This is a really helpful blog (altogether). My partner are considering moving to Hawai’i (toss up between Maui and Kauai) because there is something from (inside) that is calling us to the islands. We don’t intend to live like the tourists on Oahu, we want to live off the grid and be somewhere nestled up next to a forest reserve. 🙂
